John T. Cantu

John T. Cantu was born in New Jersey. He is an artist, teacher, and curator. The various styles of his work reflect the changing moods he feels.

By incorporating both Western and Japanese aesthetics, he has developed a versatile style, which is at times serious situated side by side with other work which may be described as comical. It is his opinion that life is beautiful. And, it is meant to be enjoyed.

“Not a strict adherent to the out-dated notion that one must develop a single style, it is my belief that art, like life, is in a constant flux. The transient nature of life offers myriad possibilities for the visual artist, and by remaining locked within a single season, for example, one becomes stale and dies, never fully realizing the full scope of beauty which life places before you.”
